Rendcomb College is already established as the outstanding small independent school in Gloucestershire. Our aim is to be the best small school in the country.
In its beautiful Cotswold setting, Rendcomb College educates girls and boys from the ages of three to eighteen years old. Our Junior School accepts day pupils up to the age of eleven and our Senior pupils, from the age of eleven, may choose day, boarding or flexi-boarding.
The College combines the friendliness of a small school with a long tradition of academic achievement. Small average class sizes and a three-weekly academic grading system for both work and effort to ensure that every pupil has a sense of being stretched, making progress and achieving.
Nearly all Sixth-Formers go on to university, including Oxbridge and many take a GAP year in Industry. Pupils' pass rate at A level was98% in 2007, with 66% of the papers graded A and B. At GCSE the pass rate was 93% with 66%graded A*-C.
Rendcomb College has a reputation for the creative and performing arts and it is our belief that confidence comes from self-expression. This extends not just to art and drama but musical theatre, and a vast array of musical and choral performances. It is has a strong tradition for sport, producing many county and national competitors as well as the opportunity for most pupils to represent the school as part of a team. There is a choice of over 50 extra-curricular activities (from fly-fishing to polo, water sports to cookery) developing pupils' self-confidence and motivation.
Boarding accommodation is superb with every pupil from the Third Form upwards having a single, spacious study-bedroom. There are 5 Houses including a separate Sixth Form House with its own facilities. Many day pupils use the school buses from Swindon, Cheltenham, Malmesbury and Minchinhampton. Rendcomb College has good access to the M4 & M5 motorways and major airports in London, Bristol and Birmingham.
Rendcomb College encourages a close partnership with parents. New website and prospectuses give an impression of both the Junior and Senior Schools and all parents are encouraged to visit and see for themselves.
Alumni - The Old Rendcombian Society has many notable members from a principal scientist for the Imperial Cancer Research Fund, to a Captain in the Royal Marines and a National Hunt Jockey to an Editor of the Financial Times.
