Bosworth Independent College was established in 1977 and is a small and friendly day and residential College for British and Overseas students. The College is situated in Northampton, in the heart of England about one hour away from London by road or rail. Excellent academic results and care for our students have made Bosworth a leading Independent College.
English is the spoken language at Bosworth’s main Academic Centre where students study a wide range of GCSE’s, A levels and University Foundation Courses. Easter Revision Courses are available which are popular with Bosworth students and local British students alike. In the Intensive English Department students are prepared for major English as a foreign language examinations including IELTS, assisting them to go to top British universities. From June onwards there are Summer English Language programmes available at the centre offering intensive courses for examinations.
Students are taught in small classes and each student has a Personal Tutor to oversee academic progress and welfare. There is regular testing and monitoring of progress and parents are kept well informed of how students are doing on a regular basis.
There are three types of accommodation available at the College. Students may live in our fully supervised Hostels with resident wardens, Independent Houses or Home stay with local families. There are mostly single and double rooms available in College Boarding Houses offering 24-hour security to our younger students and are all are located close to the College. We have a few selected families living near the College who are prepared to offer home stay accommodation to some of our students. However, in their last year of study many of our mature students choose to live in single sex Independent Houses with four or five other Bosworth students sharing amenities but having single bedrooms. Kitchens are available for snacks in Independent Houses but all meals are provided in the main college dining halls.
The dining halls are located in the main Recreation Centre overlooking the large green fields of St Georges Racecourse Park. Students are provided with a varied choice of menu in the formal dining halls whilst the college bistro offers a more snack-orientated menu.
Entertainment is provided at weekends with sporting activities, cultural visits and school trips and outings overseas, which in the past have included skiing trips to Italy and France, cultural trips to Barcelona and visits to Disneyland Paris. The entertainment programme includes Movie Nights, College quizzes, sporting competitions and the popular College Debating and Mathematics Societies hold regular meetings, lectures and events.
Bosworth regularly enables students to continue their studies at top British universities including Oxford, Cambridge and London School of Economics for a variety of subjects and other well respected universities offering IT, medicine, architecture, engineering, law and finance and business related courses.
At Bosworth we offer the opportunity for students to flourish, not only because of our enthusiasm for education but also because of our willingness to treat every one of our students as individuals.
