Bearwood College offers high quality care and education to children aged from 3 months to 18 years through our Nursery, Pre-Prep, Prep and Senior Departments. With day pupils throughout the College and boarders from age 11 to 18, we are proud to engage each child in a wide range of experiences both in and beyond the classroom.

Our expectations for effort, industry and achievement are high. Our focus is on personal success. Bearwood is a place where individuals thrive. As the only co-educational day and boarding 'through school' within 15 miles, Bearwood College uniquely provides a stable yet evolving learning environment to meet the ever-changing needs of your developing child. Your child will gain great confidence from the College's ethos, staff and facilities throughout their school career. Age appropriate pastoral care at every level ensures that personal development is supported, protecting childhood for younger pupils whilst fostering maturity in the upper years.

Founded in 1827, its parent body being the charity the Royal Merchant Navy School Foundation, Bearwood has been on its current site since 1921. The beautiful wooded 250 acre estate offers extensive facilities including its own theatre, swimming pool, chapel, woodlands and 50 acre lake. It is located within easy reach of the motorway network (M3 and M4) and within 35 minutes drive of Heathrow airport.

Our broad-based curriculum culminates in a full range of GCSEs and the choice of over 20 A/Level subjects. A generous staff/pupil ratio ensures small classes allowing real focus on each individual.

From the Pre-Prep upwards, all pupils are all engaged in a wide selection of games (both team and individual sports) and other extra-curricular activities. Drama and Music are an important feature of College life. Many pupils play a musical instrument or sing, and there are several classical and contemporary ensembles. Outdoor pursuits include mountain walking and climbing trips, skiing and snowboarding, offshore yachting, the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, Combined Cadet Force expeditions and many others.

The pastoral care of the pupils is given a high priority. Within the nursery every child has a personal keyworker. Pre-Prep pupils are cared for by their classrooom teacher and the Head of Pre-Prep. From the Prep School upwards, every pupil is a member of a House, under the Housemaster of Housemistress who, together with the Chaplain, the matrons and the medical department, is responsible for a pupil's well being throughout his or her time at Bearwood. Sixth Formers have their own social centre.

Discounts for forces personnel, siblings and clergy are available as are a range of scholarships and bursaries.

It will only be when you visit us, that you will experience the unique atmosphere of Bearwood College. Please contact us for more information and we look forward to welcoming you soon.
