When you arrive at Kent College your first impression is the beautiful, spacious setting and the superb views of the Kent countryside. Set in 75-acres of beautiful parkland, just 3 miles from Tunbridge Wells, the school offers excellent day and boarding facilities for girls age 11-18 , with a separate Preparatory school for girls aged 3-11.
EXCITING OPPORTUNITIES
Building self-esteem is at the heart of our ethos. All girls get a chance to shine, try something different, feel good about themselves and develop new and existing talents. Exciting opportunities to develop confidence are an integral part of school life: music, drama and sports tours, exchanges to Europe, Australia and America, over 65 extra-curricular activities, and Leith’s Food & Wine Course to name a few. Our aim is to equip students with the confidence, skills and positive attitude to succeed in their examinations, at university, in their chosen career and in life ahead.
A BROAD AND BALANCED APPROACH
Kent College is a happy school with high academic standards and excellent GCSE and A-level results. Pupils have a record of success in gaining places at traditional universities to study a variety of courses, from medicine to engineering, architecture to fashion journalism. The curriculum and approach to learning is broad and balanced.
The Christian ethos gives a clear moral framework, pupils are well mannered, discipline is good and we show respect for each other. It is a busy vibrant school where we enjoy doing things as a whole community, be it a barbeque lunch or a theatre trip to London’s West End.
FACILITIES AND LOCATION
Modern, architect-designed facilities include homely boarding houses, a state of the art theatre, large sports hall, music centre and indoor swimming pool. There are modern IT suites around the campus and all students have email and broadband Internet access.
Full, weekly and flexible boarding is provided in small, family-run units and girls can board from age 10. With increasing demands on parents’ time at both ends of the day, flexible boarding and an optional extended day have become very popular. Day pupils of any age can come early to school for breakfast, stay late for supper taking advantage of the school facilities for study or recreation, or spend the occasional or regular night at school.
The school is only 3 miles from the town of Tunbridge Wells, 15 minutes from the M25 and 40 minutes from London by train, less than an hour from Gatwick Airport, an hour from Heathrow Airport, and in easy reach of seaports and the Eurotunnel. Daily transport for day girls, and airport transport for boarders, are provided.
